I’ve been seeing Dr. Gestring for a few years now. I don’t know what I would do without him. I had such pain in my back and numbness in my arms. He helped to relieve all that. He is compassionate and very knowledgeable. HIs office staff are so friendly and helpful. This is one caring and compassionate place.
If you are suffering, go see him!

I suffered from occasional neck stiffness and had accepted it as an inconvenience. I couldn’t believe I was able to tell the difference in my spine movement after a couple of visits. I feel much better now and my neck hasn’t been stiff ever since I started seeing Dr. Gestring about two months ago. He is very knowledgable and caring. He does full examination and x-rays at your first visit. Then he shows you all the trouble areas with your spine, explains everything very clearly and understandable. His staff is very friendly and caring too.
I’ve seen another chiropractor once before because my neck was very stiff and I couldn’t move my head but I didn’t get the same care and attention as I did at Dr. Gestring’s office.
I would highly recommend Dr. Gestring.

I came to Dr. Gestring when my former chiropractor retired. I was used to an occasional treatment when my back flared up. However, when I came to this office, I was X-rayed to see exactly where my problems were. For about 6 weeks I came here 3 times a week, then dropped down to twice a week for another 6 weeks. Since then I’ve been coming once a week with an additional visit here and there if necessary. When starting this treatment plan I didn’t expect to see some of the benefits, yet my need for Advil has been eliminated, which has caused my severe nose bleeds to stop. After 6 weeks of care I felt well enough to start exercising, which has helped me lose weight and inches. I have referred five people to Dr. Gestring, and both of them are also thrilled by the reduction of pain in their back as well as the rest of their body.

Five years ago I was diagnosed with the first stages of degenerative disc disease and advanced forward head syndrome, yet I had never experienced chronic pain. Five years later my X-rays showed that the problem was only getting worse, as was predicted by another chiropractor. Aware of how severe degenerative disc disease would be 20 to 30 years from now, I enrolled in a treatment plan with Dr. Jason Gestring. In addition to seeing improvements on my X-ray, I noticed that my occasional lower back pain had disappeared and I was sleeping better.

My name is Stephen Gonzalez. In January of 2010 I accompanied my fiance to her chiropractic appointment. While I was there the doctor asked if he could perform a quick check on me. I agreed and he shared that I could definitely have some issues. I had been suffering from lower back problems so I consented to come in for a consultation. After reviewing the results, I agreed to start treatment. I quickly learned that chiropractic care is not simply about back pain but rather about getting your body to function the way it was meant to. For years, I had suffered from an extreme case of acid reflux disease. I had been prescribed medication, which I hated taking. However, after one month or so of coming in and getting adjusted my heartburn completely went away. For the first time in five years I was able to eat a spicy meal (which I love) without paying for it later in the evening. I was also able to function 100% at my job, which involves standing in one place for extended periods of time. I am once again able to enjoy many of the foods that I was forced to give up (although I don’t go overboard). I am a firm believer in chiropractic care.

I have been suffering from hives for more than 10 years and it has been a living hell for me. These red bumps came in different shapes and sizes and would appear all over my body. They would disappear within a few hours but they were very scary looking and they itched like hell. My doctor told me they were simply allergies and that I should try to figure out the culprit. He also prescribed Allegra, which was very effective, but only while I was taking it. Once I stopped, the hives returned. Over the years I tried many other medications, all of which offered some relief, but I was always concerned with the serious side-effects.
The hives seemed to appear at random and they made my life miserable as it was nearly impossible to refrain from scratching. As a result, I have scars and scratch marks all over my body. Not too long ago, I was waking up in the middle of the night due to the hives, and these big, itchy bumps made it very difficult to fall asleep.
Eventually, after lots of trial and error, I discovered that cooked foods and grease seemed to be causing the hives. As a result I drastically changed my diet and began eating more raw fruits and vegetables. I ate fewer cooked foods and avoided meats. While I know that vegetables are very healthy, this new diet was difficult for me as I am not a vegetarian.
About two months ago, after an auto accident, I began coming in to see Dr. Jason for my injuries. After a month of treatment, I became aware that my hives appeared less frequently. Two weeks ago I stopped taking medication for them and I began reintroducing cooked foods back into my diet. Now, to my wonderful surprise, the hives are not appearing at all.
I don’t know what Dr. Gestring has done, but his life-saving hands seem to have cured my hives. What a wonderful feeling it is. I feel now like I could practically conquer the word! All I can say is that Dr. Gestring is a life-saver!

I want to thank you for helping me with my chronic lower back and hip pain. Five years ago I started commuting from Temecula to Carlsbad for work where I would end up sitting at a desk for forty hours a week. As a result, I started experiencing fatigue, lower back pain, and hip soreness.
I was taking up to four Ibuprofen a day in an effort to find some relief yet I knew taking that number of pills each day could not be good for my body. I had also been seeing a massage therapist for a year and a half but even that offered only temporary relief.
When you came to our office with your health presentation, I was desperate and ready to try anything. I had always been skeptical about chiropractic treatment but your presentation was so informative regarding the body, spine, and nervous system that I just had to give it a try. And it worked!
Since I have come to you and received chiropractic adjustments over the past seven months, my lower back and hip pain have disappeared and I no longer have the need for Ibuprofen.
Thank you for listening to me and my pain and for bringing me the relief that I was searching for.

Oceanside harbor days, warm, sunny, and bright The Gestring’s booth of’ring free checkup and test Perfectly timed for my wife, who does not sleep well at night With her back pain she rare-ly gets rest.
A few weeks hence my car got hit from the back By a truck doing 30 or more Now my shoulders are stiff and I can’t move my neck And my back is all locked up and sore.
So to the chiro I went I could barely walk And I was scared to hear the prognosis First an x-ray or two and then an introductory talk Followed by Dr. Gestring’s best case diagnosis.
You have subluxation on your T2 and T6 Not to mention your C2 and C3 Now most of the problems I can readily fix And your insurance will pay most of my fee!
Two months into treatment I’m improving each day All my C’s and T’s and my Lumbar’s to boot Are freely turning and twisting in every which way I am dancing and jumping, I’m having a hoot!
Though some of my spine will never fully repair I look forward to a future chock-full of motion Thanks to the continuous chiro-practical care And Dr. Gestring’s great work and devotion.
O’ Neill’s MomI started seeing Dr. Jason for my son, O’ Neill, who was having occasional yet strong headaches causing him to cry and lie down on the sofa (and he is not a whiner). He was also experiencing intermittent knee pain at night.
In addition, he was suffering from frequent ear aches due to a dust allergy which left him using an inhaler and taking two Extendryl tablets twice a day. I was taking him to the pediatrician so often the office staff knew his favorite card games (Yugioh followed by Pokemon).
The last time that I took O’ Neill to see the pediatrician before finally taking him to the chiropractor, it was due to the fact that the soles of his shoes did not appear to be wearing evenly. The doctor said that he simply had flat feet and instructed us get some shoe supports.
Because I was still concerned about my son’s headaches and his foot issue, I decided to take him in for a chiropractic examination. The spinal X-ray was horrible. Your backbone is supposed to look straight but my son’s curve was nearly diagonal.
So, after three months of adjustments he experienced no headaches, no knee pain, and the 1/4″ difference in his leg length disappeared. He has not had one ear infection in the last year and we only use his inhaler once every six to eight weeks now. He plays football and he has no complaints of any pain in his head, legs, or anywhere else.
Chiropractic is great!

When I am asked “Does chiropractic work for you? Does it really help you?” I can only respond by explaining what it has done for me over these past six months.
Before starting my care I was taking 600mg of Ibuprofen three times a day along with 10mg of Citalopram HBR once daily. Now, however, I am able to stop taking all pain and anti-depressant medication. I am also able to get a full seven to eight hours of sleep each night, which has caused me to have more energy and vitality than I had before I started care with Dr. Jason. I am able to work-out on the treadmill for 35 minutes after each treatment, and I am slowly losing some of the extra weight I have put on.
My over all life has improved.
So yes, I would say chiropractic does work for me! Thank you, Dr. Gestring for all your help and support.
Maureen O.
My name is Maureen O’ Connor and I have been in the field of emergency medical services for nearly twenty years. I write this testimonial, not out of any personal gain, but to reach out to others in my profession who may be suffering, as I did for many years.
Ten years ago, in 2000, I was severely injured while completing my last week of Fire Academy. I spent eleven months on light duty while enduring rigorous physical therapy, chiropractic, acupuncture, and drug treatments in an effort to alleviate my severe pain and build back the strength I once had, all to no avail. My injuries took me out of the field work that I loved and after efforts beyond repair, I realized that my career was regrettably in need of change.
The physical exercise and play that I once enjoyed was taken from me as well. Golf, running, surfing, and even dancing were stripped from my life unless I was able to ‘medicate up’ and suffer the consequences of the aftermath. My injuries developed into scoliosis and degenerative disc disease. Each year brought increased pain and I experienced little to no relief from the prescribed pain medication.
After eight and a half years had passed, I was introduced to Dr. Gestring at a health fair. I did not believe in chiropractic. After all, I had seen many other chiropractors and experienced no relief. I was a victim of injuries with no recovery options other than minor relief through pain medication. So, I decided, “What the heck, what have I got to lose?”
After the first few months of treatment with Dr. Gestring, I noticed a difference in the severity and consistency of the pain that I had been enduring on a daily basis. Now, after a year a half of care, not only is my pain completely relieved but I am enjoying the activities that I used to. I even broke 100 in golf and completed the Carlsbad 5000 ‘with no pain or reciprocal aftermath,’ which, in the past, brought these activities to a halt.
If you suffer as I did, or are noticing a change in your ability to enjoy the simple pleasures in life due to injuries or the adage of age, may I recommend, as a sister in the field, that you give Dr. Gestring a try? There was no obligation when I decided, “What the heck,” and I am so grateful that I did. I know that you will be grateful, too.

I began with Dr. Gestring several years ago. I tended only to go when I experienced a problem. I never wanted my neck adjusted, even though it was very stiff with little movement.
Over the years I realized how beneficial chiropractic care can be and I gradually began letting Dr. Gestring work on my neck. Usually, it took six to seven attempts to successfully adjust my neck, but after being treated weekly, I cannot tell you how much my neck and the rest of my spine have improved. Now, it only takes one try and my neck is adjusted – better now than it ever was in the past.
My spine is not young but its movement is improving every week.
Also, attending their new patient class was beneficial in showing me that that one treatment now and then will not solve your problems for the future. Continuing care is what really makes the difference.
I just wish that I had started this treatment 20 years ago as I do feel better. But it’s always better late than never . . .
Chrystine M.
Hello. Our names are Kevin and Chrystine Murphy. We have been coming to Shadowridge Chiropractic to see Dr. Jason and Dr. Sarah for over a year now. I (Chrystine) will start with my story.
At the time I was experiencing constant pain and noticeable swelling in my lower back. I had also been in three or four car accidents since the age of 17, and I was suffering from migraines. Now, onto the meds I was taking for all of my issues: Vicodin for the back pain (doctors told me the pain was muscle strain resulting from the auto accidents); and Prozac for the mood swings I was suffering from due to all of the pain I was enduring.
I went to see Dr. Sarah and within about two to three months I was not taking anymore medication (I was off of what Kevin referred to as my ‘cocktail’). Now, I don’t take any meds anymore except for an occasional dose of Tylenol, and I continue to see Dr. Jason and Dr. Sarah in order to keep my light bright.
Now, for Kevin’s story: In 2005, on New Year’s Eve, we went to the desert for some fun with the family. We were so excited to be out riding and jeeping. Kevin’s friend had just bought a new Raptor 700 quad and the guys were out tooling around camp.
Then, Kevin went off a jump and collided with a Sand Rail buggy that was going 60 miles per hour. We spent that New Year in a hospital and Kevin was eventually discharged with a fractured or separated pelvis. We then proceeded to visit an orthopedic surgeon where Kevin was told to get a surgical opinion. We went to several doctors, all of whom sent us to get additional opinions.
At that point, Kevin did a little research of his own and decided that he didn’t want surgery. I suggested that he take his X-rays in to see Dr. Jason and Dr. Sarah. He made an appointment and now he’s doing great. He’s walking better and was back to work within five weeks. For a separated pelvis, this was amazing.
We are both doing great. We’re more energetic and don’t get sick as often. We are learning more about chiropractic and we’re taking better care of our bodies.

Over the years I have received excellent care from this chiropractic office, and recently they far exceeded what I and most patients would have thought possible.
I am 76 years old, and one evening in January I was at home, walking along my side yard. It was dark and the bricks were uneven, causing me to fall and injure my lower back. I was in a lot of pain – it hurt to stand, to sit, to walk – it just plain hurt. I went to my primary care physician where I had X-Rays taken and was given pain medication. Unfortunately, after looking over my X-Rays, I was told by my doctor that there was nothing he could do to treat the damage in my lower back, and I was referred to an orthopedic surgeon.
I was seen by a back specialist at Tri-City Orthopedic Group where an MRI study of my spine was ordered. The results showed significant damage, not only from the fall but from years of military life, several combat tours, and simple old age and neglect. Two of the lumbar vertebrae, L4 and L5, were constricted, putting pressure on the nearby nerves.
The orthopedic surgeon offered only one option: an immediate operation on my spine which would remove portions of the L4 and L5 vertebrae along with bone spurs and arthritic deposits. In addition, it would be necessary to rebuild that area of my spine by inserting a steel rod (to be held in place by screws) and fusing several vertebrae together. I knew thereafter that I would be limited as to what activities I’d be able to enjoy, but the pain was such that I agreed and the surgery scheduled.
While waiting for the surgery I continued treatment with Dr. Gestring. He was aware of the severity of my problem and felt that he could help relieve much of my pain by working to ‘open up my back’ as it were. We increased my care to three visits a week and I was given exercises to do at home. Before long the pain had significantly decreased and my overall flexibility was much improved. On the 20th of April I was called in by the orthopedic surgeon in order to reschedule my surgery. She did a full back exam and assessed that the due to the improved condition of my back, surgery was no longer required. Her words were good to hear.
I know that some time in the future I may still need the corrective operation but for now I can perform and enjoy just about any activity that I want to.
My grateful thanks to Dr. Gestring.

Both physically and mentally I always feel better when I leave Dr. Jason’s office. It wasn’t always this way, however.
Eight months ago I was experiencing terrible pain in my hip and neck for reasons unknown to me, and medical doctors simply advised me to take Advil. I met Dr. Jason when he happened to present a nutrition lecture at my place of employment. He also discussed chiropractic care. I thought that I had nothing to lose and decided to give it a try, so I made an appointment to see him professionally.
I came to Dr. Jason not knowing anything about chiropractors or the spine. But after an initial consultation and X-rays, I started receiving spinal adjustments. Now, I can say that I am almost pain free, and with Dr. Jason’s continued care, I am able to manage the aches and pains that I do have. What a relief! He has been a God-send for me.
Dr. Jason and his chiropractic assistants have been nothing but kind and helpful, which I very much appreciate. I thank all of them for ‘working’ with me in many areas and for making me a happier and more energetic person.
Thank you!
George Allan A.
I would like to express my appreciation for the professionalism shown by Jason S. Gestring, D.C. and his staff throughout my treatment at Shadowridge Chiropractic. It has been outstanding in all regards.
In the recent past, I was involved in a vehicle hit-and-run as a pedestrian. I received multiple injuries to my body, and I was in great pain when directed to Dr. Gestring’s office.
Upon arrival at Shadowridge Chiropractic, I was met by an office staff that was friendly and helpful. Their countenance shown towards me was beyond reproach.
After filling out paperwork, I was given a thorough examination by Dr. Gestring. The next day he counseled me on my injuries and treatment. Using my x-rays and spinal models, Dr. Gestring explained the injuries to my central nervous system so that I could fully understand the relationship between my physical systems and my injuries.
Although, I was somewhat skeptical about the possible healing results, I soon discovered that Dr. Gestring was right on in his recommendations and treatment. I cannot stress this point enough. During the course of the treatments, my pain from my injuries was significantly reduced and in some cases completely gone.
Worth particular note, my eyesight was constantly blurry after the accident. After about two weeks of treatment, my sight was completely clear once again. My eyesight was returned to a greater fidelity than even before.
At this time, I forward my fullest recommendations to Shadowridge Chiropractic and particularly Dr. Jason Gestring.
Sincerely yours,
George Allan A.

Prior to starting my treatment with Dr. Gestring I was diagnosed with Restless Leg Syndrome (RLS) by my primary care doctor. My symptoms were acute and caused me to awaken in the middle of the night. Since my sleeping pattern was disrupted, I would often feel fatigued and sleepy during the day at work. Since I refused to take prescription drugs to relieve my medical problem, I wanted to seek other holistic options.
I admit that I was a little skeptical about chiropractors. But after my first consultation with Dr. Gestring and after learning about the true causes of RLS, I became aware of how chiropractic care would help my condition. Approximately one month into my care, I have noticed a significant improvement in my daily life and I no longer suffer from any RLS symptoms.
I truly feel like a new person and I thank Dr. Gestring for allowing me regain the energy I need to perform in life.

Prior to my getting adjustments from Dr. Jason, in the evenings or whenever I would sit for long periods of time to watch a movie or theater production I would experience vague, unpleasant, annoying sensations in my legs such as creeping, crawling, and tingling. I would have an irresistible urge to move my legs when the sensations would occur. Stretching, walking, rubbing, or massaging my legs would only give me temporary relief. These Restless Leg Syndrome symptoms also made it difficult to relax and fall asleep, thus preventing me from any good night’s rest.
I was told by several doctors that the cause of Restless Leg Syndrome is unknown and that I would likely suffer from these symptoms for the rest of my life as there was no known cure! I refused to take pharmaceuticals with their horrible side effects that would only mask what the true problem was.
My symptoms steadily worsened until I started my chiropractic care. After a few weeks of spinal adjustments to correct the subluxations in my lower back, hips, and pelvic area, I noticed that I wasn’t suffering as frequently from RLS and I was sleeping better. Within months I no longer suffered from any of the frustrating symptoms of RLS.
You don’t have to suffer from the long term side effects of medication and not get any better, only to temporarily “feel” better. There is safe, gentle, and drugless cure for your RLS!
